Next The Story Well, how did we both end up here? 17 years ago, our owners, who were naive and ambitious, had a vision. They purchased Ystad Saltsjöbad with borrowed money from several aunts. With hopes and beliefs that they could transform it, from a "boring conference hotel" into a destination for anyone, anytime. Soon, 16 destinations later, a couple of restaurants, nightclubs, a hardrock band, and well, a few more companies later. On days when the moon and sun align, we do believe that we create moments of happiness. Our work stretches from Norway's north all the way to Spain's south. But most of us, you will find in Sweden. For starters, the venues must, in fact, SCREAM creativity, happiness, and “let’s get things done”. If that is all set, you need to have places to eat, drink, and enjoy each other's company. At ESS Group, we are passionate about creating new unique destinations, resorts, and experiences that make our guests want to return. Since the start at Ystad Saltsjöbad in 2007, we have strived to create meeting places with unique characters, marked by passion, playfulness, and professionalism. Our goal is to create profitability and world-class guest experiences with a personal touch. On our best days, when the moon and sun align, we often say: “We create moments of happiness.”

Today, ESS Group’s family includes 15 hotel and resort destinations in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, as well as a yacht in Palma Mallorca.

In Gothenburg, we have the city resort Jacy’z Hotel & Resort, the luxury boutique hotel Pigalle, and the lifestyle hotel Bellora. Further south are the destinations resorts Falkenberg Strandbad, Ystad Saltsjöbad, and the small gourmet hotel Villa Strandvägen. MJ’S can be found in Malmö, and in Västerås, there is Steam Hotel, built in a 100-year-old steam power plant. Ellery Beach House location is in the beautiful nature of Lidingö, and Fýri Resort is the first mountain boutique resort in Hemsedal, Norway. In Denmark, things look really good with the beach hotel Marienlyst in Helsingør.

Next in line are Maryhill Estate in Skåne, Hjortviken Country Club in Hindås, and considering our love for Denmark, Rox Resort in Køge. Additionally, there is a brand-new horse farm named Skönabäck when looking into the future.

We love food, drink, and music, so we are also active partners in restaurants such as Chicca Belloni, Cheri-Lee, Barabicu, Zamenhof, Tranquilo, Villa Odinslund, Villa Johanneberg, Port du Soleil, 8ight & EXCET.

Innovation and related industries have always interested us, which is why we are also part of the interior and concept agency Spik Studios, the e-commerce platform Home of ESS, the hard rock band Nestor, the co-living company UDDA, and now our own rosé wine NESSA and, as the icing on the cake, a champagne Dunesse.
